Troops kill two terrorists in Zamfara, Kebbi operations


The 1 Brigade Headquarters of the Nigerian Army has confirmed the successful neutralization of two terrorists and recovery of arms and ammunition in two separate operations conducted in Zamfara and Kebbi states.
Security sources revealed to counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama that at about 10:13 a.m on Sunday, soldiers from 1 Brigade conducted a fighting patrol to Tubali village in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, following intelligence of a planned attack on the Forward Operating Base in Galadi.
“The troops made contact with the terrorists at Tubali, killing one and recovering an AK-47 rifle. There were no casualties on the side of the military, and the patrol team returned to base at about 2:10 p.m.”
In a separate incident, at about 10:12 a.m., troops launched another fighting patrol at Konangoro-Duko junction in Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
“The patrol was in response to an attack on a joint location of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and Nigeria Customs Service (NCS). The terrorists fled upon sighting the advancing troops but were pursued, leading to the killing of one terrorist and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle and two magazines.” Makama revealed.
