Sokoto Gov condemns abduction of 25 Kebbi schoolgirls

…Urges Prayers and Vigilance

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has expressed deep shock and sadness over the abduction of 25 female students from Government Girls Comprehensive School, Maga, in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The students were kidnapped by gunmen on Sunday night, a development Governor Aliyu described as “very unfortunate and inhuman.”

Speaking from Saudi Arabia, where he is performing the lesser Hajj, the governor prayed for the safe return of the abducted girls.

“It is sad and heart-touching when innocent people, especially female students, are abducted by criminals,” he said, expressing solidarity with the Government and people of Kebbi State. He further prayed that Almighty Allah would protect the girls’ dignity and reunite them safely with their families.

Governor Aliyu also called on residents of Kebbi State and Nigerians to intensify prayers for the victims’ rescue and urged support for security operations through vigilance, timely reporting of suspicious activities, and cooperation with authorities.

He emphasized the need for divine intervention in the ongoing efforts by both federal and state governments to combat banditry and other forms of criminality across the country.
