Skinner leaves Man Utd after contract termination

Marc Skinner has left his role as Manchester United Women’s head coach.
Skinner only signed a new two-year contract at the club last summer, with a one-year option on that deal.
United finished fourth in last season’s WSL and missed out on European qualification as a result.
Skinner replaced Casey Stoney in 2021 and guided United to their first piece of silverware in 2024 with victory in the FA Cup.
“Marc Skinner has departed his role as Head Coach of Manchester United Women by mutual agreement,” said the club in a statement.
“Appointed in 2021, Marc led United to four domestic cup finals in four seasons, winning the club’s first major honour in women’s football with the 2024 FA Cup.
“During his tenure, United also finished runners-up in the 2022–23 Women’s Super League, securing qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.
“Last season, the team reached its first League Cup final and the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
“Marc leaves having made a significant contribution to the continued progress of Manchester United Women.
“The club places on record its sincere thanks for his professionalism, commitment and dedication throughout his time at United, and wishes him every success in the future.”
