Security forces recover 48 rustled cattle in Yobe

The Yobe State Government Standing Committee on Recovery of Rustled Cattle and Other Livestock has said that a combined team of operatives from the Nigerian Army and the Hunters Group recovered 48 stranded cows without a trace of a herdsman or owner.

This was stated by the Special Adviser on Security Matters and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Recovery of Rustled Cattle and Other Livestock, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (Retd), in a statement issued on Saturday.

According to him, the cows were found between the Mafa and Sassawa general area of Tarmuwa and Damaturu Local Government Areas respectively on Friday, 19 September 2025.

“A combined team of operatives from the Nigerian Army and Hunters Group on operation in the area, recovered the stranded cows.

“By this announcement, the owner(s) are requested to come forward with proof of ownership to claim their livestock,” he said.
