REDAN teams up with Sytemap to digitise Nigeria’s real estate market

In a bid to restore trust and transparency in Nigeria’s real estate sector, the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria, REDAN, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with Sytemap Technologies Limited, to digitize land and property transactions nationwide.

For decades, Nigerians navigating the property market have faced uncertainties, disputed titles, and multiple sales of the same property.

The partnership between REDAN and Sytemap aims to address these challenges by integrating REDAN’s network of verified developers with Sytemap’s digital real estate infrastructure, simplifying how properties are listed, verified, mapped, and transacted.

Industry analysts estimate that Nigeria loses over N36 trillion annually due to untitled and disputed land, a figure that hampers housing, infrastructure development, and economic growth. Urban centers like Lagos and Ogun States report hundreds of thousands of land-related fraud cases each year, leaving buyers and investors exposed.

President of REDAN, said HRM Oba Akintoye Adeoye, said the partnership is about restoring.

He said: “When developers, buyers, and regulators operate on a trusted digital foundation, everyone benefits, from Nigerians buying their first home to institutional investors backing large-scale developments.”

“Under the MoU, REDAN will facilitate the onboarding of its registered developers onto RightHOME, a unified digital platform promoting verified property listings and consistent industry standards. Sytemap will provide the secure technology backbone, including mapping, transaction tracking, and fraud-prevention systems, ensuring that all listed properties are credible and traceable.

Also, CEO of Sytemap, Nnamdi Uba, said: “For everyday Nigerians, this means fewer disputes, clearer ownership records, and faster transactions. For developers, it translates to reduced friction, improved buyer confidence, and a more transparent market. “This is not just about technology—it’s about dignity, security, and peace of mind for people investing their life savings. REDAN’s endorsement signals that the industry is ready for a better way.”

The agreement was signed by Ndifreke Ikokpu, COO of Sytemap, and Cholatte Odunlade-Akeji, Director of RightHOME, with HRM Oba Akintoye Adeoye representing REDAN.
