Police dismantle bandit camps in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command says it has dismantled bandit camps during a clearance operation in Makarfi Local Government Area.
The police said the operation was carried out on August 29, 2026, by its operatives working with the Kaduna State Vigilance Service in Makarfi.
According to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, the security team “engaged bandits and dismantled their hideout during a clearance operation in Makarfi Local Government Area.”
Hassan said information provided by residents helped security operatives locate suspected bandit camps around Durum and Danguzuri, including areas close to the boundary with Kano State.
He said two structures believed to have been used by the bandits to keep abducted victims were destroyed.
The structures were located at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu in Danguzuri.
Hassan added that joint security patrols were still being carried out in the area to prevent the bandits from returning.
“Joint security patrols are still ongoing in the area and normalcy has been restored. The general area remains calm,” he said.
The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, praised residents for providing useful information and supporting the security operation.
He also commended the security personnel for their efforts and assured residents that the police would continue operations against banditry and other crimes across the state.
