Police boost security for peaceful Eid-el-Fitr in Plateau

The Plateau State Police Command has placed the entire state on high security alert as residents prepare for the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr (Sallah) celebrations.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bassey Ewah, announced the deployment of robust security strategies involving critical assets and personnel to safeguard lives and properties and maintain public order before, during, and after the festivities across the state.
In a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, the Command warned that anyone with malicious intentions to disrupt the peace would be arrested and prosecuted without delay.
As part of the measures, the Police have imposed a total ban on commercial tricycles (Keke Napep) operations in Jos and Bukuru metropolis on Sallah day, while the existing state government ban on commercial motorcycles (okada) in the metropolis remains strictly enforced.
CP Ewah urged residents to remain vigilant, report any suspicious activities promptly, and avoid actions that could incite violence or unrest.
He specifically appealed to religious leaders, parents, and community stakeholders to promote orderliness, peace, and security awareness during the celebrations.
