Police arrest suspect, recover stolen Kano Gov’t house vehicle

KANO— Operatives of Kano State Police Command have arrested a suspect, Ya’u Inuwa in connection with a vehicle stolen from the Kano State Government House and also recovered the vehicle.
The vehicle, white Toyota Hilux which was said to be attached to the Governor’s Advance Teams, was reported missing from the Government House on November 11, 2025. Confirming the development, the spokesperson of the command, Abdullahi Haruna said the suspect who doubles as a driver at the Government House confessed to have conspired with two other individuals, who are currently at large to commit the crime.
Haruna said: “The State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Bakori, had ordered the ceiling up of all entry and exit points of the state and directed that the vehicle be recovered and those involved be arrested.
“Following sustained follow up coupled with intelligence-led investigations, one Ya’u Inuwa, a 50-year-old male driver in the Government House, was arrested in connection with the theft. The vehicle was recovered in Unguwa Uku, Yan Awaki Quarters, Kano, and is currently in police custody. The suspect confessed to having conspired with two other individuals.”
