Oyo schoolchildren: Lawmaker, Buhari gives reason for successful operation 

The lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Abdulfatai Buhari, says the only reason that led to the rescue of the abducted Oyo schoolchildren and teachers was collaboration among the security agencies.

Buhari made this remark on Monday during an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’.

He also hailed the military officers for their determination towards the rescue mission.

“There was collaboration among them. Each of them had a role to play, and there was a special squad from the National Security Adviser, NSA, office.

“About four weeks ago, I was in my constituency and saw a naval battalion passing through Ogbomosho. I was wondering what they were there to do. I didn’t know that everyone of them had a role to play.

“The General Officer Commanding, GOC, and the garrison commander were all on the spot. They were determined and ready to swing into action,” he said.

Recall that the military on Monday handed over the rescued abducted victims to the Oyo state government.
