Oborevwori mourns aide, Sunday Kotor

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has expressed grief over the sudden death of his Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, Mr. Sunday Kotor.

Kotor reportedly died on Friday evening after collapsing at a private event.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described the late aide’s passing as a painful loss to the Delta State Government and its people.

He noted that Kotor was a dedicated and committed public servant who gave his best in the discharge of his duties.

“The late Sunday Kotor was wholly dedicated to his job. His passing is a huge loss, not only to his family but to the government and people of Delta State,” the governor said.

Oborevwori extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, particularly his younger brother, Mr. Conference Kotor, who also serves as Senior Special Assistant to the governor on media.

He added that Kotor’s contributions to government activities, especially in protocol and event coordination, would be greatly missed.

Kotor was a familiar face at Government House, Asaba, where he anchored official state functions for over two decades. He served as Master of Ceremonies under successive administrations, including those of former governors Emmanuel Uduaghan and Ifeanyi Okowa, and continued in the role under the current administration.

A graduate of Mass Communication from Delta State University, Abraka, the late Kotor hailed from Okwagbe in Ughievwen Kingdom, Ughelli South Local Government Area.
