No individual owns PDP, it’s not private enterprise – Bode George

Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bode George, on Tuesday declared that no individual owns the former ruling party.

George maintained that the PDP is not a private enterprise where those who consider themselves as the highest contributors dictate affairs.

Featuring on Channels Television’s Morning Brief, the PDP chieftain cautioned members against plans that are contrary to the dictates of the party.

He said: “People lost the respect and the dictates of the constitution because they think because I contribute to the financial something of the party, therefore I must have powers more than the chairman or more than the party – the party should stand up or sit down for you – it’s not a private enterprise.

“Ours is not a private enterprise, no individual owns the party. That has been the crux of the matter. You will now come and say ‘I own the party’. Who the hell are you?

“Once something has been standardized and established, you don’t go against that establishment, you don’t start planning against that establishment because if you do, you are decimating the party. That’s what has happened now.”
