In today’s Nigerian newspapers review programme, Today in the News, Vanguard leads with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) warning that soaring inflation, worsening insecurity, low wages and the collapse of social protection systems have plunged Nigerians into the worst survival crisis in the country’s history.
Another headline states that former First Lady, Aisha Buhari, said her late husband, ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, battled long-term malnutrition that affected his health while in office, adding that some powerful aides turned him against her, leading him to restrict her access to his room.
Vanguard also reports that human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, urged the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), to immediately arrest and prosecute 10 soldiers accused of killing three police officers in Taraba State, as well as 400 suspected terrorism financiers whose cases were allegedly abandoned during the Buhari administration.
