NGO seeks to inspire learning, excellence among students

Non-governmental organisation, Development for Rural Lives through Intervention Programmes, DRIP Initiative, has expressed commitment to discovering young talents, empowering students and creating platforms that inspire learning and excellence.

The NGO said this at the maiden edition of the Drip Initiative STEM Quiz Competition in Ode-Aye community, Ondo State, where the knowledge, composure and analytical abilities of some students were tested and rewarded.

Speaking on the significance of the competition, Ayejusunle Tosin, the Founder and Team Lead of Drip Initiative, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to finding young talents, giving them support.

The maiden edition, he noted, was more than just a contest, it was a reflection of what the community can achieve through unity and a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation.

Meanwhile, the competition featured top-performing students from various secondary schools who showcased exceptional brilliance, academic depth, and admirable resilience as they navigated a series of challenging rounds. Covering core science subjects; Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.

At the end of the intense contest, three outstanding students emerged as champions. They are: Matthew Toluwalase of Sound Foundation Secondary School, who secured the first position; Mewaraeni Jumoke of Unity Secondary School, who claimed the second position; and Akariji Promise of Unity Secondary School, who finished in third place.

They were celebrated with cash prizes, educational materials; including books, mathematical sets, and other valuable learning tools, all geared toward enhancing their academic growth. Their confidence, intelligence, and subject mastery stood out throughout the competition. Moreso, their achievements equally reflected the dedication of their teachers and the strong academic culture upheld by their schools.

The event further strengthened the belief that investing in education remains one of the greatest contributions to the future of Ode-Aye and the society at large. Plans are already underway for the next edition of the competition, as Drip Initiative intensifies efforts to promote a stronger reading culture and sustained academic excellence among students.
