Mutfwang wins APC ticket to run for second term
Gov Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections in the state.
Mutfwang emerged the winner, having secured the highest votes in the APC governorship primary in the state.
Mr Fidelis Mnyim, the chairman of the Election Committee for the state, declared Mutfwang the winner on Friday in Jos.
Mnyim said that Mutfwang polled 233,335 votes to defeat his rival, retired Commodore Yilchini Bida, who scored 3,070 votes.
“As the chairman of this committee, I wish to declare Caleb Mutfwang, having scored the highest votes and satisfied the requirements of APC constitution, as the winner of the primary.
“Therefore, he has returned as the elected governorship candidate for Plateau in the 2027 general elections,” he said. (NAN)
