Man Utd confirm ‘welcome back’ plan for De Gea at Old Trafford

Manchester United have announced plans to welcome David De Gea back to Old Trafford on Saturday.
The Spanish goalkeeper will return with Fiorentina for a pre-season friendly against the Red Devils.
United have confirmed that there will be “a special ceremony” involving both players and supporters to honour his contribution to the club.
De Gea made 545 appearances during his 12-year spell with the Premier League side, becoming one of the most prominent figures in the club’s modern history.
He departed as a free agent in the summer of 2023, following a decision by then-manager Erik ten Hag not to renew his contract.
After spending a year out of football, De Gea signed with Italian side Fiorentina.
Saturday’s fixture marks his first return to Old Trafford since his controversial exit.
