Kebbi State Govt confirms Emir of Zuru’s death in London hospital

Kebbi State government has officially confirmed the death of the Emir of Zuru in Kebbi State, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Sani Sami (rtd).

The traditional ruler was said to have passed away on Saturday night at 81 years.

The Kebbi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Garba Umar-Dutsinmari, made the confirmation of the monarch’s death in a statement issued to newsmen on Sunday.

The monarch died at the age of 81 years in a London hospital after an illness, the statement said.

The former Army General was said to have left behind four wives and seven children.

“The Kebbi State Government is using this medium to extend its heartfelt condolences to his immediate family members, Zuru Emirate Council, Zuru people, and the entire people of Kebbi State.

“May the Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.”

The statement, signed by Malam Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor, said that burial arrangements for the late Emir would be communicated in due course.
