IWD: 35% women in Onigbongbo council as LCDA woos investors

Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Moyosore Adebanjo, has reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to women’s leadership, saying the recently inaugurated Executive Council includes 35 percent female representation.

Moyosore, who said strong economies were not built by government alone but through partnership, called for private sector collaboration with his administration.

He spoke at the maiden edition of the Chairman’s Business Exchange – ‘Give to Gain,’ that brought together business leaders, policymakers and representatives of the organised private sector to strengthen collaboration for economic growth and community development.

The event held at The Grandeur Event Centre in Oregun, Ikeja, where he also marked the celebration of International Women’s Day 2026.

Those present included the Special Adviser to the Governor on SDGs, Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih-Awokoya; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Taxation and Revenue, Mr. Abdul-Kabir Opeyemi Ogungbo; and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Climate Change and Circular Economy, alongside representatives from the business community.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman said: “Strong economies are not built by government alone. They are built through partnership. When government and enterprise work together, development moves faster and prosperity becomes shared.”

He also announced the establishment of a Public–Private Partnership Desk within the Office of the Chairman to facilitate collaboration between businesses and the LCDA.
