Imo APC elects Austin Onyedebelu as State Chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State has elected Austin Onyedebelu as its new state chairman.

Onyedebelu emerged at a congress held at Ndubuisi Kanu Square in Owerri on Tuesday, while Onyekachi Ibezim was elected as state secretary. Both were nominated as consensus candidates on a unity list to lead the party for the next four years.

Delegates and party members at the congress affirmed the consensus arrangement. Onyedebelu succeeds MacDonald Ebere, who has chaired the party since 2021. The event was largely peaceful, with no reports of disturbances.
