Gifted actress, screenwriter and filmmaker Tierny Olalere was a recent guest on the inspirational and lifestyle podcast Conversations With Kenni, hosted by media personality and visibility strategist Kehinde Ajose.

In the episode, she opened up about her journey in Nollywood, reflecting on her early struggles, the sacrifices behind her career growth, and the resilience required to stay consistent in the industry.

Olalere also addressed the popular relationship question often directed at women: “What do you bring to the table?”

Responding, she said she does not find the question offensive, adding that she strongly understands her value and contribution in any relationship setting.

“No man has ever asked me what I bring to the table. I have value, I have something to give, I have something to add to your life—whether you are my friend, dating me, or marrying me. I am not the table, I am the furniture. I am the tree that makes the table, that makes the chair,” she said.

On whether she could date a financially struggling partner, the Like The Stars producer noted that while she respects ambition and potential, she expects growth and progress over time in a relationship.

“No offence to any broke man. If you have prospects, definitely you will do well. But if it drags on and what I have is what we will keep sharing without growth, then it becomes a concern,” she added.

Describing herself as audacious, Olalere credited that mindset for her staying power in Nollywood.
