Singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has responded to criticism following backlash over her recent outfit, which sparked debate online for being revealing when paired with a traditional gele.
Ayra Starr made a bold fashion statement by wearing a traditional Nigerian gele paired with a modern, streetwear-style outfit to a live event. She wore this look while headlining Part 1 of the Zsongo Experience at KOKO London, where fellow artiste Tiwa Savage also made a surprise appearance.
The 23-year-old artiste, who was widely discussed after photos of her appearance circulated on social media, dismissed the criticism and insisted she is unbothered by the reactions.
Reacting directly to the comments on Instagram, she wrote on her page, “Y’all relax in the comments I’ve worn way worse and I’m going to wear wayyy worse so manage your yarns.”
Her response has since drawn mixed reactions online, with supporters praising her confidence while critics continued to question her fashion choices.
