Gov Otti’s wife charges Abia teachers to discover pupils’ potentials

The wife of the Abia State governor, Mrs Priscilla Chidinma Otti, has charged teachers in the state to discover and develop the potential of school pupils.
Mrs Otti, who described teachers as the hand that holds the future, also advised them to teach with care and compassion in order to produce future leaders for the state.
She gave the charge on Friday in Umuahia while distributing educational materials to pupils during the first phase of the Safe Tent back-to-school outreach for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Mrs Otti, who described education as the bedrock of development and transformation, said that the donation of the materials would ensure that children, including those from vulnerable homes, have unhindered access to education.
She also noted that the initiative is a further boost to the free and compulsory education launched this year by her husband, Governor Alex Otti.
She promised that the programme would be extended to other parts of the state in subsequent phases to deepen its impact.
Mrs Otti, who urged parents and pupils to utilise the educational materials in developing their potential, thanked key partners for their support of the programme.
