As the 2026 World Cup is set to take centre stage in a few months, anticipation for action has been steadily built across the globe, with this edition being one of a kind and the first tournament to be hosted across three nations—USA, Canada and Mexico.

It is set to be held in 16 cities and some of the most advanced stadiums ever assembled for a sporting event, as the three nations plan to offer a unique experience for soccer fans alongside state-of-the-art host stadiums that will elevate the fan experience and provide the setting for countless memorable moments. What gives the 2026 FIFA World Cup a unique feel is that the tournament will test teams across different environments, cultures and conditions.

Here is the full list of stadiums set to host the 2026 World Cup, with each venue bringing its own identity to the competition.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

The United States will host the majority of matches at the FIFA World Cup, bringing a collection of 11 stadiums that blend scale with sophistication.

1. New York

Host Stadium- MetLife Stadium

Capacity: 87,157

MetLife Stadium is one of the premier stadiums in the country. Its long hosting resume includes the Super Bowl, a multitude of soccer friendlies, outdoor ice hockey, college football, and numerous concerts, including Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Elton John, and the Rolling Stones. MetLife Stadium will host the 2026 World Cup Final.

2. Dallas

Host Stadium- AT&T Stadium

Capacity: 92,967

The AT&T Stadium boasts a large capacity and a reputation as one of the largest sporting venues in the world. The architectural masterpiece, boasting a retractable dome, temperature control, and a massive HD screen, has a seating capacity for over 92,967 spectators. It is expected to host multiple high-profile fixtures, including a semi-final.

3. Atlanta

Host Stadium- Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Capacity: 75,000

The Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a marvel of modern engineering with its retractable roof and 360-degree halo video board.

4. Los Angeles

Host Stadium- SoFi Stadium

Capacity: 70,240

The SoFi Stadium is widely regarded as one of the most technologically advanced stadiums ever built. Its design and fan experience could redefine how football is consumed on the biggest stage.

5. Seattle

Host Stadium- Lumen Field

Capacity: 69,000

Lumen Field promises one of the loudest and most intimidating atmospheres players will encounter.

6. Boston

Host Stadium- Gillette Stadium

Capacity: 70,000

Gillette Stadium is a premier 65,000+ seat venue opening in 2002, which includes a 22-story lighthouse and the largest outdoor stadium video board, setting the stage for the 2026 World Cup matches. It is the home of the NFL’s Patriots and MLS’s Revolution

7. Philadelphia

Host Stadium -Lincoln Financial Field

Capacity: 69,328

Lincoln Financial Field and Gillette Stadium bring tradition and passionate fan bases, adding depth to the tournament’s atmosphere. The Lincoln Financial Field has hosted matches for the Women’s World Cup, the CONCACAF Gold Cup, and the Copa América Centenario.

8. Kansas City

Host Stadium- Arrowhead Stadium

Capacity: 76,640

The Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City is a site to watch for its deafening crowd noise. It can host upwards of 76,000 soccer fans for the 2026 World Cup. The venue holds the Guinness World Record for “loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium.”

9. Miami

Host Stadium- Hard Rock Stadium

Capacity: 67,518

The Hard Rock Stadium will bring heat, noise, and atmosphere, a key venue for the third-place playoff.

10. Houston

Host Stadium- NRG Stadium

Capacity: 72,220

In Texas, NRG Stadium offers climate-controlled comfort, ensuring optimal playing conditions despite the summer temperatures. The stadium is part of a large sports and entertainment complex known as NRG Park. With a seating capacity of 72,220, with a retractable roof and state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment, the match day experience at this venue will be top-notch.

11. San Francisco

Host Stadium- Levi’s Stadium

Capacity: 70,909

Furthermore, Levi’s Stadium offers a blend of sustainability and innovation.

MEXICO

Mexico offers a blend of history and beauty alongside a delivery of heritage.

12. Mexico City

Host Stadium- Estadio Azteca

Capacity: 87,523

Estadio Azteca is a legendary stadium. The iconic venue has hosted some of the most memorable matches in Mexico’s football history, including two men’s World Cup finals, the 1968 Summer Games, and the 1971 Women’s World Cup. In 2026, it will again make history as host to the opening match of the World Cup.

13. Guadalajara

Host Stadium- Estadio Akron

Capacity: 48,071

Beyond the legendary Azteca, Estadio Akron is a standout venue for its striking architectural design, inspired by a volcano which symbolises the passion that defines football in the region.

With a seating capacity of just over 48,000, Estadio Akron is one of the largest stadiums in Mexico. It previously hosted the final of the 2010 Copa Libertadores as well as the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2011 Pan American Games.

14. Monterrey

Host Stadium- Estadio BBVA

Capacity: 53,460

In Monterrey, Estadio BBVA (known as “The Steel Giant”) uniquely offers a stunning natural backdrop framed by mountains, merging sport with scenery in a way few venues can match.

15. Vancouver

Host Stadium- BC Place

Capacity: 54,500

With an impressive hosting resume, including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Games, BC Place is no stranger to major events. The stadium will serve as a major hub for matches in the country, its indoor setting ensuring consistency regardless of the weather.
