Nollywood stars brought high fashion and cultural elegance to the premiere of “Ajosepo 2: The Gathering”, which held on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Filmhouse IMAX, Lekki, Lagos, with the “Owambe Glam” theme setting the tone for a night of style and celebration.
The event transformed the venue into a vibrant showcase of traditional fashion, with cast members and guests fully embracing the dress code in richly styled aso-ebi, geles, and contemporary indigenous designs.
Leading actor Timini Egbuson, who plays Jide in the film, made a bold cultural statement in a structured deep-blue Agbada. He paired it with a red fila, coral beads, and a white ìrùkẹ̀rẹ̀, delivering a regal traditional presence on the red carpet.
Actress Bolaji Ogunmola, who plays bride Mary, stunned in a cream aso-oke ensemble detailed with purple embroidery across the neckline, sleeves, and hem. She completed the look with a neatly tied white gele, reinforcing her bridal elegance.
Other guests also fully embraced the theme, appearing in coordinated aso-ebi, statement geles, and custom traditional pieces that turned the premiere into a cultural runway of colour, texture, and sophistication.
Directed by Kayode Kasum, “Ajosepo 2: The Gathering” continues the story two years after the original film. The sequel follows Jide and Mary’s wedding preparations, which quickly spiral into drama as extended family tensions resurface, bringing humour, chaos, and buried secrets to light.
The film features an ensemble cast including Timini Egbuson, Bolaji Ogunmola, Mike Afolarin, Tomike Adeoye, Toyin Abraham, and others.
“Ajosepo 2: The Gathering” is set for nationwide cinema release on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
