Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has heaped praise on three Manchester City players following their derby win on Sunday.

City thrashed United 3-0 at the Etihad to record only their second victory of the season.

Phil Foden opened the scoring in the first half, before Erling Haaland grabbed a brace after the break.

Pep Guardiola also handed a debut to goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who joined from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

“Manchester City were very good,” Keane said on Sky Sports.

“It was a big day for Halaand. It was important for Foden to get a goal and it was a good debut for the goalkeeper.

“It is all pluses for City. They scored three, they could have scored more.

“It is like they have had a reset. The international break came at a good time for them.

“There is definitely a different feel to them today. It was an important win and an important statement,” Keane said.
