EPL: ‘He’s also inexperienced’ – John Terry hints on why Chelsea sacked Maresca

Former Chelsea captain, John Terry said he was ‘completely shocked’ when the club announced that Enzo Maresca had left his position as manager.
Maresca left Stamford Bridge on New Year’s Day, which was less than six months after he led Chelsea to the Club World Cup.
The former Leicester City manager also won the Conference League with Chelsea last season and finished fourth in the Premier League, which helped them get into the Champions League.
Chelsea began the season strongly but had a tough December, earning six points from six matches and falling 15 points behind the Premier League leaders, Arsenal.
Maresca’s relationship with the Stamford Bridge management team started to get worse, and club legend Terry mentioned there was definitely some tension within the board.
Terry said on TikTok, “Enzo Maresca has just been fired by Chelsea, and to be honest, I’m totally shocked. I didn’t expect it at all.
“I know things of late haven’t been how he would like.
You can tell there’s been some tension by what you see and hear. I’ve gotten a lot of phone calls this morning since the news came out, and everyone is asking me what’s going on.
“I don’t know what’s going on, and since I’m not part of the first team, I can’t say for sure. Just my take from a distance, there’s definitely been some tension between the manager and the owner, and that’s why they’ve made this decision.
“It’s a big surprise because if you go back three or four weeks, we were doing really well against Barcelona. It was really good, but four weeks later, the form and performance clearly weren’t good enough.
“I think the manager is inexperienced just like the rest of the team. It was his first real job in the top league, and he has mentioned that he’s still learning and sometimes makes mistakes.
“But I will say there’s always two sides to every story, and there are definitely things going on behind the scenes that I don’t know about. I just hear the same kind of rumors that everyone else does.”
