Ekiti Poll: INEC to display preliminary register of voters for public scrutiny

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ekiti State, has announced plans to display the Preliminary Register of Voters for the State for public scrutiny.

This was contained in a statement signed and made available to journalists by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr Bunmi Omoseyindemi.

According to him, the display exercise will take place from Friday, 6th March to Thursday, 12th March 2026 in all designated centres across the 177 wards in Ekiti State, as the state prepares for the June 20 governorship election.

Omoseyindemi explained that the purpose of the display is to enable Ekiti residents to verify the details on the register and ensure its accuracy ahead of the forthcoming electoral activities in the state.

The statement reads, “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) hereby notifies the general public, political parties, civil society organisations and other stakeholders that the Preliminary Register of Voters for Ekiti State will be displayed for public scrutiny, claims and objections across the State.

“The display exercise will take place from Friday, 6th March, to Thursday, 12th March, 2026, in all designated centres across the 177 wards in Ekiti State.

“The purpose of the display is to enable members of the public to verify the details on the register and ensure its accuracy ahead of the forthcoming electoral activities in the state.

“During the exercise, the following will be attended to: Verification of names and personal details on the register; correction of errors in names, dates of birth and other particulars; claims by eligible voters whose names may have been omitted; objections to ineligible persons whose names appear on the register, including cases of deceased persons or underage registrants.

“INEC therefore encourages all registered voters, political parties and other stakeholders to actively participate in the exercise by visiting the display centres within their respective wards to confirm their details.

“The Commission reassures the people of Ekiti State of its commitment to maintaining a credible, transparent and inclusive voters’ register as part of preparations for future electoral activities.”
