Court Ruling: Fadojoe hails NRM leadership, calls for party unity

A presidential aspirant on the platform of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, popularly known as Fadojoe, has congratulated the party’s National Chairman, Prince Chinedu Obi, and members of the party leadership following a ruling by the Federal High Court of Nigeria in Abuja declining jurisdiction over contempt proceedings instituted against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Fadojoe described the court’s decision as a victory for justice, due process and the rule of law, noting that the judgment reaffirmed the legitimacy of the party’s leadership and its internal processes.

In a statement, the presidential hopeful commended the party’s leadership, particularly the National Management Committee (NMC) and the National Executive Committee (NEC), for what he described as their resilience and commitment to preserving the unity and integrity of the NRM despite internal disputes.

According to him, the ruling also validates the outcome of the party’s Emergency National Convention held on April 14, 2025, which he said was duly monitored and recognised by INEC.

“This judgment is not just a victory for the leadership of the party, but a victory for democracy, internal party discipline and the collective will of all genuine members of the National Rescue Movement,” he said.

Fadojoe also commended party members across the country for their loyalty to the ideals of the NRM, noting that the victory belongs to every committed member nationwide.

He, however, urged aggrieved members to sheathe their swords and work toward unity in the interest of the party and the country.

The presidential aspirant stressed the need for members to remain focused on strengthening the party as a credible political platform committed to promoting good governance, national development and people-oriented leadership.

According to him, the court ruling should serve as an opportunity to deepen unity within the party and reposition it ahead of future political engagements.

Fadojoe further noted that Nigeria requires collective efforts to achieve meaningful progress, urging party members to come together in pursuit of what he described as the liberation and rescue of the country.

He wished the National Chairman, the party leadership and members continued success as they steer the affairs of the NRM towards greater achievements and national relevance.
