CHAN: Super Eagles coach, Chelle reveals deep regret as Nigeria exits competition

Eric Chelle, head coach of Super Eagles, has revealed his “deep regret” at the ongoing 2024 African Nations Championship.

Chelle led Nigeria to a 2-0 defeat by Congo in their final Group D clash on Tuesday.

Anas Yusuf and Sikiru Alimi scored the goals for the Super Eagles B team against Congo.

The Super Eagles B team exited the competition despite the win against Congo.

They finished in third position in the group behind Sudan and Senegal, having lost against both teams in their first two games.

Speaking at his post-match interview after Nigeria defeated Congo, Chelle said his deep regret at CHAN was his side’s humiliating 4-0 defeat to Sudan.

“Our deep regret stems from our heavy defeat to Sudan, but that’s football,” Chelle said via CAF’s official website.

“We will carefully analyze the Sudan match to make up for what happened in the future.”
