Bokkos Under Siege: 61 Communities Affected, Youth Demand Relief Solution Over Relief Materials Immediately.

Bokkos Local Government Area in Plateau State, Nigeria, continuous the reeling from a series of brutal attacks by terrorists, leaving approximately 61 communities affected, with thousands displaced, and hundreds killed. 

The Youths called for relief solutions, emphasizing the need for empowerment and capacity-building initiatives to help communities rebuild and recover from the attacks.

Addressing World press Conference at Azi Nyako Youth Centre, Dadin Kowa Jos, the group who are drawn from across communities of the Locality expressed their utter dismay and heavy heart over the unimaginable suffering and killings that have plagued their communities for years due to incessant killings by the suspected Fulani Herdsmen.

They frown at the Media and Newsmaker's narrative of "farmer-herder clashes" describing it as "a deliberate misleading term against practical reality to divert conscience for the sake of their interests correctness".

According to the group's spokesperson, Comrade Dapet Chris Otega, "the reality on the ground is one-sided attacks by armed Fulani militia on farming communities, aimed at intimidating, displacing, or annihilating them".

The youths pointed out that the terrorists attacks have resulted in thousands of lives lost and properties worth billions destroyed.

"WE NEED RELIEF SOLUTION not RELIEF MATERIALS" as they called on authorities, concerned bodies, individuals to engage with local leaders, civil society organizations, and traditional leaders to identify and address terrorist activities.

They also urged the government to invest in economic development, education, and social services in vulnerable communities, which can help to address the underlying drivers of poverty, inequality, and exclusion that can contribute to insecurity.

The youth appreciated the efforts of personnel who have worked tirelessly to protect the communities, but expressed disappointment with others who the group accused of corrupt practices.

They called on authorities to ensure that such betrayal of trust and duty do not go unpunished and that those responsible also face the consequences of their actions.

The affected communities include Daffo, Maiduna, Ganda, Warem, Josho (no-go area), Mai Katako, Mandung, Butura Company, Danbukuru, Mangor, Chirang, Mile 7, Toje, Tahore, Waya, Wang, Shorom, Nghabok, Mbar, Yelwa Nono, Garau, TaranGol, Nghatigot, Pangur, Njwakrim, Ruwi, Kambar, Appeli, Kwatas, Marish, Manguna, Hurti, Tadai, Tisirlai, Danbwash, Tahora, Hokk (no-go area).

Captured and occupied, Kaban, Nawula (no-go area) captured and occupied, Luwapan (no-go area), Margif, Suwa, Dingak, Fokoldep (no-go area) captured and occupied, Ndimar, Mbor, Njin, Rwam, Nina, Dangru (no-go area), Bodel (no-go area).

Also captured and occupied are, Matalem, Duun (no-go area), Martol, Ngoksar, Marit, Dulu (no-go area) captured and occupied.

Affected are also Kanger Tulu, Kwakas, and Fwanding, which have been subjected to unimaginable suffering.
