Bandits threat: Report suspicious movements to nearest station – Police tell Oyo residents

Oyo State Police Command has advised residents of the state to without waisting more time, report any suspicious movements in their communities to the nearest police station.

The command made this declaration via a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade.

The statement was made available to DAILY POST on Saturday in Ibadan, the state capital.

DAILY POST reports that some people suspected to be bandits had allegedly written notes to residents of Ikoyi-Ile in Oriire local government area.

The suspected bandits noted that they will strike on Tuesday, 20 January this year.

Our correspondent gathered that the threat is coming few days after some suspected bandits attacked and killed five forest rangers at old Oyo national park.

The park is located in Oloka village, one of the villages in Oriire Local Government Area.

But the police in its reaction, advised members of the public to always report any suspicious movements in their communities to the nearest police station.

Ayanlade, who noted that the police is aware of the notes, said that the people who are connected with the discovery of the notes are currently undergoing debriefing.

He added that the State Intelligence Department (SID) and tactical units have been directed to commence intensive debriefing of all persons connected with the discovery of the notes. .

Ayanlade maintained that operational assets have been deployed and repositioned within Ikoyi-Ile and its surrounding communities

“As part of deliberate and visible security actions, armed patrols, stop-and-search operations, intelligence surveillance, and strategic area domination have been significantly reinforced.”
