The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Chief Benjamin Omale, has declared that the re-election of Governor Hyacinth Alia for a second term in 2027 is “non-negotiable,” citing growing unity, loyalty and grassroots mobilisation within the ruling party across the state.

Chief Omale made the declaration at the weekend while hosting a get-together dinner for youth and women groups, members of the Alia Performing Musicians (APM), select APC stakeholders and party faithful at his Makurdi residence.

According to the APC chairman, the strength of the party lies in its unity and collective resolve to support the governor’s administration and vision for Benue State.
“Unity and togetherness remain the most powerful tools for building a successful political party that can win any election,” Omale said.

“That is what we have in Benue APC today. We are solidly behind Governor Hyacinth Alia, and that is why his re-election in 2027 remains non-negotiable,” he added.

Omale explained that the dinner was organised primarily to thank God for His protection, guidance and faithfulness over the APC family in Benue State throughout 2025. He said the event also serves as an appreciation gesture to party members, particularly youths and women, for their loyalty, sacrifices and unwavering support at all levels.

He paid glowing tribute to APC youths in the state, describing them as “homefront soldiers” who have stood firm in the face of risks and challenges to defend the party’s ideals.

“The party wants to appreciate the youths in a special way for supporting His Excellency and ensuring that the Alia movement is not cut short. The youths have made us proud. They have promoted the party beyond reasonable doubt, and that is why I chose to dine with them and a few others,” he said.

Reassuring the youths of inclusion in governance, Omale said the new year holds renewed hope and opportunities for them, stressing that Governor Alia remains deeply committed to youth empowerment.

“Governor Alia thinks about you, plans for you and incorporates you into his agenda. Come 2026, we will ensure that the youths of Benue State are not disenfranchised but are firmly positioned wherever they are. The party will support you in all your movements to keep our people united and to promote the party, especially towards the re-election of Governor Alia in 2027,” he added.

The APC chairman also acknowledged the contributions of the Alia Performing Musicians (APM), who, he said used music as a tool to project and promote the governor’s achievements and good governance across the state assuring that their commitment and dedication would be rewarded accordingly.

Omale also used the occasion to appreciate the media, security agencies and other critical stakeholders for their cooperation and support in ensuring the success of the Alia administration. “We will continue to partner with each and every one of you till the end,” he said.

Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilisation and Illegal Levies, Mr. Terver Gbenda, commended Chief Omale for putting the occasion together, for his leadership style, openness and dedication to the growth of the party.

Gbenda described the get-together as timely, noting that it helped to strengthen bonds among party members across the state.“I will continue to mobilise the youths to support and work for the success of Governor Alia’s administration and to ensure his victory in 2027,” he assured.
