2027: Vote for Fubara; Tinubu’ll be massive in Rivers – APC
By Davies Iheamnachor, PORT HARCOURT
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has said that votes for the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, who recently decamped to the party, and the incumbent President, Sen. Bola Tinubu, would be massive in Rivers State.
The National Secretary of the APC, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, however, hailed Fubara for his governance strides in the state, calling on Rivers people to rally behind the party in support of both Tinubu and Fubara in 2027.
Bashiru made the call in Port Harcourt during the inauguration of the newly completed Permanent Secretaries’ Quarters at Elimgbu Community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area on Monday.
Bashiru described the state as a shining example of APC governance, noting that the achievements recorded under Governor Fubara reflect the party’s commitment to people-orientated leadership.
He expressed pride that Rivers State is the first in the South-South region to be fully controlled by the APC, urging residents to consolidate the gains by supporting the party at all levels, particularly President Tinubu and Governor Fubara.
He said, “You are also saving River State a lot of money, for the fact that when somebody is comfortable in his job, the need to do corner-to-corner that will undermine transparency and that will undermine commitment and absolute loyalty to the needs of the River State will have been addressed.
“So I congratulate our governor, and I congratulate our party, because when the government is doing well, it’s a symbol that our party is doing well.
“But the only way you can compensate the governor and compensate our party, people of River State, is to continue to vote for our party, the APC, in all elections.
“And I know that in the fullness of time, in the general election coming, the vote for our party, the vote for our governor, and the vote for our president will be very massive in River State.”
Meanwhile, Fubara, in his speech, said the initiative for the project was designed to enhance productivity, improve the health and well-being of senior civil servants, and promote institutional stability within the public service.
Fubara said providing decent accommodation for permanent secretaries helps eliminate insecurity and uncertainty that can affect their performance and decision-making, especially for officers with family responsibilities.
He assured that the housing scheme would not be limited to permanent secretaries alone, promising that other categories of civil servants would benefit from similar welfare interventions in the future.
The Governor also warned beneficiaries to safeguard the facility, directing the State Head of Service to appoint a dedicated facility manager to ensure proper maintenance and sustainability of the estate.
Meantime, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who performed the inauguration, commended Governor Fubara for prioritising the dignity and welfare of public servants, describing the project as a strategic investment in institutional continuity.
