Dismisses post-primary crisis as threat to APC’s chances

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Chief Olusola Oke, SAN, has predicted a landslide victory for President Bola Tinubu in the state during the 2027 presidential election.
Oke stated this while reacting to comments by a House of Representatives aspirant, Engr. Razaq Obe, that the President may not secure victory in Ondo State in 2027 due to the crisis that followed the party’s last primary election.
The APC chieftain described the statement as contrary to the reality on ground, insisting that the party remained strong and popular in the state.
“As a chieftain of the APC in Ondo State, I cannot keep mute over such an outburst.
“The statement that President Tinubu and APC may not win the 2027 election is in total contrast to the popularity of APC and President Tinubu in Ondo State,” Oke said.
He argued that such comments not only portrayed the party chapter negatively but also disregarded the efforts of party leaders towards ensuring victory for Tinubu in the next presidential election.
Oke said disagreements after primary elections were normal in political contests and did not reflect the strength or preparedness of the party.
“The only party in Ondo State is APC. In every contest, especially primary elections, there is always post-primary disagreement, particularly among those who contested for party tickets.
“This has nothing to do with the strength of the party in the state and its preparation for the coming election,” he said.
The legal practitioner expressed confidence that the current political strength of the APC in Ondo would translate into victory for Tinubu in 2027.
“With the current state of APC in Ondo State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will record a landslide victory in Ondo come 2027,” he added.
Oke urged party members to avoid making statements capable of damaging the image of the APC.
