2027: Old Boys urge Ali Pate to consider Bauchi governorship

The Bakaro/Dangikka Primary School Old Boys Association has asked the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof Muhammad Ali Pate, to consider running for Bauchi governor in 2027.
In a statement signed by its Secretary-General, Umar Musa, the group said Pate’s experience in health administration and governance could help address some of the state’s challenges.
They noted his past roles as Director-General of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Minister of State for Health, and work with the World Bank, as well as his involvement in healthcare reforms and development projects both in Nigeria and abroad.
The association listed areas they believe need urgent attention in Bauchi, including healthcare, education, agriculture, housing, water supply, security and jobs.
“Our call is based on his track record and capacity to deliver, not on political sentiment,” the statement read.
They added that the decision to run rests with Pate but said they hope he would give it serious thought ahead of the 2027 polls.
