2027: 'No one in Tinubu govt has any shame' - Amaechi
The vice presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Rotimi Amaechi, has said everyone working under President Bola Tinubu has lost every sense of shame.
The former Rivers State governor made the claim on Friday while speaking on News Central TV.
Amaechi said Nigerians are suffering under the Tinubu administration, yet the same government is still preparing to seek another four years in 2027.
He stated that the people in government ought to hide their faces in shame and step aside for others to come in and fix the country.
"The current president has put us in this suffering. I don't know why he wants to run. I don't even know why APC wants to participate. They should be in shame and allow other Nigerians to participate and change the country," Amaechi said.
He blamed the hardship in the country on the 'emilokan' idea that helped Tinubu to win power, saying hunger does not know religion or region.
He said there is no separate market for Christians, no separate market for Muslims, and no separate market for people from the North or South.
"It is Emilokan that brought us here. It is 'our turn' that brought us here. It is the turn of Nigerians," he said.
Amaechi also said the 2027 poll should be judged on performance alone, asking voters to pick leaders on merit, and not because a candidate says vote for me because of where I come from or because it is our turn.
The former Minister of Transportation said he felt embarrassed watching a president commission a 16-kilometre road, adding that such a project is the work of a local government chairman, not a president.
