WAFCON 2026: Babajide declares Super Falcons ready for Cameroon showdown

Rinsola Babajide has declared the Super Falcons ready for the quarter-final showdown against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The defending champions will battle Cameroon for a place in the semi-finals at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, Casablanca on Sunday.

The winner of the highly anticipated contest will also earn a berth at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Nigeria have recovered from their slow start to earn a place in the knockout round, finishing second in Group C.

Cameroon, who finished top of Group D, are yet to taste defeat in the competition.

Babajide said the Super Falcons will do their best to secure victory.

“We are very excited to play Cameroon. We have played against them a couple of times before, we know their strengths, we are prepared, and ready to face them,” Babajide told the Super Falcons Show.

“We know why we are here, we need to get the ticket to the World Cup, we are focused, and we are ready,” she added.
