UCL final: Gabriel breaks silence after penalty miss against PSG

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has spoken of his disappointment after missing a decisive penalty in the UEFA Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday night.
The Gunners appeared on course for a famous victory after Kai Havertz handed them an early lead in the showpiece match.
However, PSG fought back and equalised through Ousmane Dembele from the penalty spot after Cristhian Mosquera brought down Khvicha Kvaratskhelia inside the area.
With both sides unable to find a winner after 120 minutes, the final was decided by a penalty shootout.
Arsenal’s hopes suffered a major blow when Eberechi Eze missed his spot-kick before Gabriel failed to convert the club’s fifth penalty, handing PSG the advantage.
Reacting to the heartbreaking defeat, Gabriel took to Instagram to express his emotions while thanking supporters for standing by the team throughout the campaign.
“It’s painful, but I’m proud of this team and everything we achieved together this season,” Gabriel wrote on Instagram.
“Thank you to our incredible fans for your support every step of the way. You deserve to celebrate this journey with us and enjoy the parade today!
“See you next season!!! Love, Big Gabi [love heart emoji]”
Despite the disappointment of falling short in the final, Gabriel said he remains proud of Arsenal’s achievements during the season and is already looking ahead to the next campaign.
