I’m alive, hale and hearty — Onuche debunks death rumours
The Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sensitisation and Mobilisation to the Kogi State Government, Hon. Excel Onuche David, has dismissed reports circulating on some media platforms alleging his death, describing them as false, reckless and malicious.
In a statement he personally signed on Tuesday, Onuche said he had been inundated with calls and messages from concerned family members, friends, associates and well-wishers following the publication.
He insisted that he is “alive, hale and hearty” and fully engaged in his official duties under the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
According to him, the report was not only false but also a result of poor verification by those who circulated it.
“It is both shocking and irresponsible that such a sensitive story was published without any attempt at verification,” he said.
Onuche noted that the publication had caused unnecessary distress to his family, friends and supporters, adding that it was both defamatory and damaging.
He demanded the immediate removal of the false report from all platforms where it was published and called on those responsible to desist from further dissemination of the misinformation.
He also issued a 24-hour ultimatum for a full retraction and an unreserved public apology, warning that failure to comply would compel him to take legal action against all individuals and platforms involved.
The aide thanked those who reached out to confirm his wellbeing and reassured the people of Kogi State of his continued commitment to his duties and public service.
