Beloved, we thank God for life as we progress in the month of a new beginning.

A new beginning means an end to old challenges, it is the time when we sing a new song, it could also mean the time that people call one by a new name.

New signifies a departure from the old.

Either in the physical or spiritual world, new beginning calls for celebration.  It ushers in relief, it ushers in joy that we all cherish.

Brethren, there are several routes to a new beginning.

Some, within our control, others beyond our control.

However, a combination of both the physical and the spiritual often lead to a new beginning.

I’ll start by sharing the testimony of a medical doctor known for dismissing spiritual healings. He believes healing began and ended in the Bible days.

Then suddenly his young daughter became ill.  He put his expertise to work but his daughter was not healed, she continued to experience a raise in temperature.

Then his mother told him to take the child to the church.  He agreed and they went to Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries ( MFM) where the grandmother worships.

To the glory of God after series of prayers, the little girl’s temperature became normal and she got healed.

You could see that the devil and his agents  tormented the doctor as if to tell him that his knowledge of medical science  isn’t enough to heal his daughter.

The doctor said, he had tried everything within his knowledge but  his daughter’s temperature remained high.

To the glory of God, after prayers of a few hours,  her temperature crashed and  she was healed.

The human action there is that of  the grandmother’s faith that believed the girl was attacked by spiritual forces and that the power of God would defeat them.

The second was the agreement to go to the church.  What if the parents   prevented her from going to the church.?

Her family  took physical steps and met with the power of God that gave her the healing miracle.

Beloved, see what the combination of physical steps and the spiritual action  produced.  For the first time, I saw her father, a medical doctor who previously didn’t believe that the forces of darkness could manipulate a person’s health or situation testify to the power of God.

The point here is that the power of God delivered the young girl from the forces of darkness.

So what is that issue that has held you down or stood as an obstacle to your prayers that has prevented you from getting your prayers answered.?

Let’s consider an account  in 2nd  Kings   4 vs. 1-7 ( KJV).  It tells the story of  one of the wife of a prophet, whose husband had died and was  heavily indebted and the creditors had come to take away her two sons to be “ bondmen”.

Verses 2- 7 : “ And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me,  what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels ; borrow not a few.

And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those  vessels , and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought  the vessels to her; and she poured out.

And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her , There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

Then  she came and told the man of God. And he  said, Go, sell the oil and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest”.

The first physical action the widow took here was to cry to Elisha for help.

Her faith made her cry to the man of God.  She knew that God is the only one that could  reverse her financial situation.

For you, whom do you cry to? Friends, relations or in-laws?  Take a cue from the widow, take your case to God.

You would say she went to Elisha. Yes but she must have heard testimonies of miracles that Elisha performed. These must have made her to approach him.

Then she obeyed his instruction to go and borrow vessels. The act of going from house to house to borrow vessels was another action.

She went to her neighbours and got vessels.  What if she wasn’t in good terms with her neighbours?

A lesson here is that we should never  allow whatever  challenge we have to affect our relationship with others.  She wouldn’t have been able to go to them if she didn’t have a good relationship with her neighbours but thank God she was in good terms with her neighbours.

The word that Elisha spoke delivered her from indebtedness.

She got delivered and had a new beginning of a debt free life.  Indeed she had an overflow of financial blessings such that she was no longer called a debtor.

God put to shame those that wanted to put her sons into slavery because of the debt she owed.

By the grace of God, if your detractors continue to mock you, God would show up with a miracle for you when they least expect in Jesus name.

The widow here got a new beginning of financial independence.

The miracle opened her mouth for a new song.

Brethren, there are conditions for one to be delivered.

I make reference to   a previous sermon of our father in the Lord, Pastor  Enoch  Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

He once said, the person that is in  bondage must be willing to be delivered.

Have you been  a victim of spiritual husband that has sex with a man  in the dream?   Unless, such a person is delivered,  to achieve pregnancy would  be difficult.

A woman that finds herself in that position must go to a true man or woman of God  for deliverance.

Once Jesus steps in and she is delivered, the long awaited baby or babies would be conceived and delivered.

A man too may also have a similar experience. The procedure for deliverance is the same.

Another step is to ensure you do nothing that amounts to cooperation with the devil.

In other words, live a holy life.

Beloved, no matter our level of success now, we all need a new beginning.

May the merciful God grant us a new beginning as we cooperate with Him in Jesus name.

Shalom!
